The Lights of Cheyenne
2003
Prickly Pair’s 2003 release features old, new, borrowed and blue tunes……….. A host of western, cowboy & folk classics plus some original music that will surprise and delight……more bang for your buck, 20 cuts in all. The title cut is a delightful Wyoming song we discovered, of all places, in Arkansas while playing a gig with it’s author. Believe it or not, by request, Les sings some silly leads while still employing his trademark fancy fiddling & harmonica. Locke carries her vocal leads with customary versatility & clarity of voice. The backup musicians’ wizardry is very tasty; with Mike Dowdle on lead guitar, dobro & mandolin, Rob Honey on bass & Don Christensen tickling the ivories.
A necessity for the collection of all acoustic music fans!
